The Audio Song Bench comes to life with different MP3 stereo music or sound effects when activated by a seated visitor. This unique display is perfect for interpretation centres, museums, zoos, and aquariums.

Recently, an Audio Song Bench was installed at the W. Ross Macdonald School for the Blind in Brantford, Ontario, in their scented garden. With over 40 sound effects and nursery rhymes, the bench complimented the overall theme of smells and sounds. The Audio Song Bench is an exciting addition to the school and is enjoyed by students, faculty and visitors alike.

Bench Features

* Powered by our Audio Discovery Player™ (ADP-MP3) full CD quality MP3 Stereo Digital Audio Technology, each seat can have its own fixed or rotating sound tracks and can even attract attention with a special timed mode that plays when idle for a length of time. Removable compact flash memory cards allow easy updating of sound tracks or modes of operation with a personal computer.
* A weatherproof enclosure and indestructible switches provide for long life with low maintenance.
* The modular system can be setup with 4 or more attractive slatted wooden seats each 19" deep x 23" wide on a heavy duty metal frame. Every pair of seats has an 18" stand post that can be bolted to a concrete foundation. Other custom shapes and configurations are possible. Please call us for a specific quote on a project.

Mounting / Site Preparation
* Outdoors: Recommend qty 2 - 14" diameter concrete footings below frost line
* Indoors: Qty 2 - 6" x 10" steel anchor plates (provided) - permanently fixed to concrete using 3/8" concrete bolts
* Bench posts then screw to anchor plates - allows easy installation / removal of bench leaving anchor plates
* AC power should be provided near mounting post
* Detailed Installation drawings available

* External 120VAC Adapter with D.C. Output: 15VDC, 1200mA , 2.1mm Jack (provided)
* Optional: 120VAC, 60Hz., 0.5 amp, with 6' weatherproof Line Cord

Audio Messages
* MP3, full CD quality stereo reproduction, approx. 1 megabyte per minute of full CD stereo recording
* Audio Discovery Player uses MP3 audio files that are copied to a compact flash card using a personal computer
* User to provide message files - RMA can optionally provide on request
* User can convert virtually any audio source including CD and wave files to MP3 using personal computer and optional MP3 Software

Compact Flash Memory Card
* 32 megabyte card standard - other cards available: 8, 16, 64, 128, 256 MB capacities
* CF type I, extremely compact: 1.7" x 1.4" x .13" (43 mm x 36 mm x 3.3mm)
* Easily inserted, removed & shipped, memory is re-programmable & not affected by power failures
* Readily available for use with other commercial digital cameras, MP3 players
* Simple *drag and drop* file loading using a personal computer, Windows, and optional card reader

Seat / Message Operation
* User can edit a *script* text file on compact flash card to define operation
* Messages activate from each seat first come first serve
* Up to 500 messages possible - limited by card space and Windows file format
* Rotating messages for each seat or rotating messages for any seat - different message each activation
* Message stops if visitor gets up during message
* Visitor must stand up and be re-seated to activate next message on same seat
* Message may play if not activated for period of time
* Other operation possible - RMA Technologies provides full telephone and email support

Seat Switch Activation
